![]() Found a company that cut me a sticker, looks ok.Ī proper decoding would be much appreciated. otherwise it's dead stock, except the Aria Pro 2 logo, the veneer on the headstock broke up when the neck broke. Too bad the stock pups are gone, but I'll manage. ![]() ![]() PS: In the refurbishing process I swapped the DiMarzios I equipped with in the mid eighties (the only right thing to do back then) with a pair og Whiskerbuckers from CreamT (BFG Miss Pearly Gates spec pups) and it sounds fantastic. ![]() But I have to admit that this might not be the case when I tried to decode the serial # (068117) - Is it a '78 (third digit "8") manufactured in June ( first two digits "06 ") or is it manufactured in 1980 (first digit "0")? If it's an '80 I have to rethink parts of my youthĪnyone to the rescue? Do I have to rethink my youth? Use the following search parameters to narrow. We have guitars with serial numbers and claimed dates of production. Hi Guys, Ive just bought myself a nice Aria Pro II from a local guitar. It looks to me like a pre-lawsuit Martin copy but Im no. I'm pretty sure I bought this guitar when I was 12, which means it was bought in 1979. Arias been around since 1956 but theres not much info about serial numbers pre-1970. The last 15 years or so I have cared for it and kept it clean, with fresh strings and I have played it regularly. This was glued in the mid 80's with some "super resin" and is still holding together. It has "been there, done that" and lived a hard life in my teens, with a broken neck as a result.
